(Cpl) Simon Beadel was born in Gibraltar but was brought up in Highworth and this is the town he called home. Simon joined the RAF as a Physical Training Instructor at age 18, at which he was a 3rd generation Beadel, following his Father & Grandfather. He was vivacious, energetic & a caring young man with the courage of a lion and a heart of gold. He was the only child of Sue & Chris Beadel and died at the age of 25, on 6th January 2009, whilst at home on Christmas leave from serving with the peacekeeping forces in Kosovo in 2008. He died from a virus that he contracted whilst in Kosovo. He was an avid supporter and was involved in many crazy stunts on behalf of Help for Heroes, The Royal British Legion, and The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund Charities, for which funds are being raised at the Pram Race and ‘The Best of British’ Ball.

Since Simon’s death, Sue & Chris, alongside his family and friends, have held various charity fund raising events to raise money and awareness of the Help for Heroes, The Royal British Legion, and The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, all of which were very close to Simon’s heart.

So far we have raised approximately £30,000 through the above events and would love to break the £50,000 mark.
